Cultural Festival The Peele Community College
Building Bridges Project
Community Lincs “Building bridges project” in partnership with new community group “Spalding International” has been awarded additional funding to carry out Cultural Festival at Peele Community College in Long Sutton.
This project is designed to facilitate community cohesion in South Holland and Boston areas. It will be a whole day event at The Peele Community College in Long Sutton with performances of different traditional dances and songs from: England, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Latvia, China, India and many others.
Local schools will be invited to get involved in the event. Scarlet Community Music Club will teach children from The Peele Community College and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School songs in different languages and perform at the event. Children from local schools will be able to demonstrate not only their vocal skills but also dancing, arts and crafts skills.
Children will also be involved in the creation of artistic decorations for the event. School children will be doing arts on the theme “Cultures of the world” which will be displayed at the event.
Events
- Everybody attending who would like to learn dance moves (English, Scottish, Bollywood and others) will have the opportunity to.
- There will be the possibility to try and buy food from all over the world, supplied by local shops and restaurants.
- Embassies will provide leaflets and information about countries around the world.
- Different local organisations will have stalls promoting their services and activities.
