REAP Strawberry Moon Festival
Severn Trent Water and ‘REAP’ over the Moon with fabulous festival plans!
Thousands of fun seekers are being promised a weekend to remember in Staffordshire when a fabulous new festival is unearthed for the first time.
The Strawberry Moon Festival, as developed by ‘REAP’ (Rural Education & Arts Project); a community arts organisation based in Longnor, will showcase the cream of local talent in music, drama, dance and many more art forms on Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1, within a Severn Trent Water site near Leek forming the perfect, picturesque backdrop.
The huge extravaganza is the first of its kind to be staged at Tittesworth Water and organisers are hoping to reap what they sow with an event to remember.
Project Director, Tina Ball, of ‘REAP’, said the festival would showcase a wide range of creative talent and budding performers from around the Staffordshire Moorlands and even further afield.
“First and foremost, this will be a great family day out for people everywhere. There will be something for everyone, as this event celebrates arts, rural crafts, music, film and dance in local communities. It really is a diverse, action packed event and we are all so excited with what we have in store.”
Severn Trent Water’s Events Co-ordinator Leila Beaty added: “We are over the moon to be hosting an event as big and exciting as this. Tittesworth Water is such a diverse, attractive venue and we think we have struck the perfect partnership with REAP.”
In the run up to the main event, there will be a two-month lead-in period of educational workshops and training which will work towards the creation of new music, artworks and live performances to be featured at the event. This programme of creative workshops will commenced on April 1 2007.
