Lowdham Book Festival
This year's festival is 22 - 30 June
Nottinghamshire's best known book festival is due to begin soon. There are book launches, seminars for writers, performances and a children's programme. The first weekend is embracing a sports theme with talks on everything from mountain biking in Nottinghamshire to cricket and Nottinghamshire's own footballing legend Brian Clough.
Go to www.lowdhambookfestival.co.uk to see the full programme.
The last day is, as always, free – but bring a good book! The Festival is teaming up with Book Aid International which sends books to libraries and schools in the third world. Good condition books are needed please. The Festival is also supporting Water Aid and Sport Aid – look out for collecting tins and literature.
Warthog Promotions (www.warthogpromotions.co.uk) from Lowdham is organising two music events again, this time on the main stage. There will be concerts with Paul Jones and Kiki Dee.
