EMARAN autumn 2008 conference
Cross Fertilisation & Companion Planting
The Hub, Sleaford, Lincolnshire £25 including a scrumptious lunch A 'partnerships conference' with a difference: this is EMARAN's 4th conference and follows on the heels of a highly successful Spring Event attended by 80 creative practitioners in Market Harborough in May. Comments from the last conference: "Excellent day - really inspiring", "Thanks for a wonderful, engaging-artist supporting day" The Autumn Conference is aimed at cultural and public sector audiences - local government officers, chief executives, head gardeners and gardeners of the arts. We will be focusing on opportunities to talk and share ideas in relatively informal sessions throughout the day. With a glorious array of wild and wonderful projects on show, the morning will focus on the artists' perspective of their work in partnership; with the afternoon session focusing on the public sector partner's experience. Delegates will be able to choose to attend a presentation in the morning and afternoon from one of the following themes:
Our key-note speaker is Steve Messam, from the internationally respected FRED art invasion in Cumbria. He's very experienced when it comes to working in partnership with rurally based non-arts organsiations, as well as farmers, land owners, and local authorities. You can read more about FRED, or Steve's other project, the Fold gallery at www.foldgallery.co.uk and www.fredsblog.com
So get your wellies ready, plant the date in your diary
