Who is this course aimed at?
- People with some artistic ability and much artistic curiosity who would like to push forward and research, plan and produce an original art work.
- People who would like to discuss what art means and does.
What topics will the course cover?
- Each module involves a unique investigation and development of a given topic.
- Each module involves research, discussion, planning and preliminary studies.
- An art work, for example a painting, will be developed, documented, completed and presented.
What will I need to do during the course?
- Complete one art project.
- Keep a sketchbook and notebook.
- Develop an art work through research and preparatory studies.
- Investigate the relationship of art theory to practice.
- Relate class activities to independent study.
What materials will I need?
- Students provide their own materials as appropriate.
- Each course carries 10 UFA credits
- Credits are gained when you complete the coursework having attended 70% of the course
- You need a minimum of 60 credits to gain the UFA
- 50 credits must come from course modules and 10 credits come from a final piece of work, usually a personal study supervised and supported by your tutor
