REAP and Severn Trent Water in Partnership

Strawberry Moon Festival

The Strawberry Moon Festival is a major REAP project and will showcase the cream of local talent in music drama dance crafts and many more art forms on Saturday June 28 and Sunday June 29 2008 with Severn Trent Waters site near Leek forming the perfect picturesque backdrop. It will additionally be home to a Makers Market which will be an opportunity to try taste and buy from local food producers and creative businesses from weavers to jewellery makers to ceramicists.

Projects Director Tina Ball of REAP said 'The festival will showcase a wide range of creative talent and budding performers from around the Midlands. First and foremost this will be a great family day out for people everywhere. There will be something for everyone as this event celebrates arts rural crafts music film and dance in local communities. It really is a diverse action packed event and we are all so excited with what we have in store. Festivals can have an incredibly positive effect on a community improving a sense of identity and pride raising awareness of local talent and providing a hub of creativity. They can also help engage otherwise hard-to-reach parts of the community as well as giving valuable experience to those participating and attending. We believe that we can give communities in our area an added vibrancy and excitement through this festival.

With preparations now underway REAP are on the lookout for local food producers and creative businesses and artists to feature their business or group at our festival. REAP are also keen to hear from anyone interested in volunteering in support of the festival as there are many exciting roles to fill and opportunities to offer.
