Fail to Plan: Plan to Fail

Arts Marketing Planning Training Day

Friday 14th December (9:30am – 4:30pm), Nottingham

Your marketing success will only be as good as the planning you put in. The point of marketing planning is to make sure that you focus on the things that will have the most impact and help you achieve your objectives. Sounds obvious, maybe, but its surprising how much marketing is done last minute.

This one-day course will take you through the steps you need to take to achieve marketing success. It will cover auditing and analysing your existing marketing, setting your strategic objectives and organising your priorities into a marketing plan. During the day there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion so that individual issues can be addressed.

This course is designed for people in small and medium sized arts organisations who have responsibility for marketing, often but not always as well as other responsibilities. It is designed to give you the tools to create successful marketing plans regardless of budgets and time.

Peter Bolton, who will be facilitating the day, has over 20 years experience of working in the cultural sector. He has run concert halls and festivals and now runs his own events, projects and consultancy business, Ovation. For two years he ran the Arts & Business Audience Development Programme providing advice and information to small and medium sized arts organisations.
