South Holland Open Arts Competition

Calling all East Midlands Artists

South Holland District Council in South Lincolnshire is inviting artists, photographers, students and anyone with a creative flair, to take part in the eighth Open Arts competition, sponsored and organised by Arts Development, South Holland District Council with additional sponsorship from Millgate Windows and Conservatories.

This prestigious event has been running since 1999 and has attracted artists and visitors from all over the East of England.

The competition is open to artists over the age of 14, who live or work in: Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire Peterborough, Nottinghamshire, East Leicestershire, East Northamptonshire, Rutland, North West Norfolk and East Cambridgeshire.

Amy Wood, Arts Development Officer at South Holland District Council, is keen to stress that entrants from 14 upwards from all over the East Midlands can enter:

‘I would really like to encourage everyone to enter the competition, it really is open to everybody. And this year I would especially like to see more entries from young people. It is free to enter for 14-16 year olds and it’s a great opportunity to showcase young talent.”

Details

Artists can enter up to three pieces of work in various types of media, these include: three dimensional and sculptural work, photography / digital, oil / acrylic and watercolour / pencil. Selected pieces of work will be entered into the exhibition, running from 11th – 16th January 2008.
